JIMMY V died two months after giving a speech at the ESPY awards.  Two of the most famous quotes from that speech are included on this page.   Jimmy was a dynamic speaker motivator and coach to the end.  If we can all go out with as much style and dignity and have people still honor us after all these years thats all we can ask.

Personal note from Jimmy V.

Jimmy V is the reason I am a NCSU fan.  We had just moved back to North Carolina from Wisconsin.  I  was flipping channels and came across a game.  I couldn't quit watching the coach.  He was full of energy and you couldn't help but to like him.  We moved to New Jersey prior to the championship game in 83 and I was the only one in my school pulling for the Cardiac Pack.  He lead them through the NCAA and we won it.  Who can forget Jimmy trying to find someone to hug after the game.  No one with a heart could. 

 

 

"To me, there are three things we all should do every day. We should do this every day of our lives. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. And number three is, you should have your emotions moved to tears, could be happiness or joy. But think about it. If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you're going to have something special."
